Dream Vacation
Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world? What if you could choose your "Top 5 Bucket List Locations"? Get ready to plan an amazing adventure to these five locations!
Before You Begin
1. Choose Groups / Seven Habits: Carefully choose your travel partner for this adventure of a lifetime. Before you begin the project, discuss the Seven Habits. How will you use these habits to work together? At the end of this project, you will complete an individual Leadership Self-Assessment about your contributions to the group.
2. Create a Shared Folder: Create a shared folder in Google Drive. Include each partner's name and "Unit 7 PBL" in the title of this folder. Share this folder with each partner AND Ms. Kerley: [email protected] . Make sure each partner and your teacher can "edit" anything in this folder when you share it. Everything for this project must be saved here!

Plan
4. Copy Planning Sheet to Folder: Open this link to the Planning Sheet (click "File-Make a Copy" so you can edit your own copy and save in your shared folder).
5. Brainstorm and Plan: Use the planning sheet to brainstorm and plan your trip. You may choose any five locations in the world. They may be located on completely different continents, or all in the same state. You will then find a map that has all five of your locations and upload a picture of it to the planning sheet.
6. Teacher Conference 1: During the planning stage, you will conference with your teacher at least two times. She will initial your plan when you are ready to move on.

8. Create Your Map: On a large piece of chart paper (from Ms. Kerley), label quadrant I with a title, x axis, and y axis. Draw the map from your plan so it takes up the entire quadrant. Place your 5 landmarks and plot the coordinate pairs.
9. Teacher Conference 2: After creating your large map, meet with your teacher to check your coordinate pairs.
10. WOW Factor: How will you go above and beyond in this project? Do not limit yourself to just one idea!

Ideas:
- Create a post card from each of your locations. Draw a picture of a place you would visit on one side and write a note about your experience on the other. Attach this to your map near the coordinate pairs for each location.
- Choose one of your locations and create another map of all the places you would visit in that location. Be sure to include everything you need for quadrant I (title, x axis, y axis). Include coordinate pairs of each of the places you would visit in the city.
- Create a budget on Google Sheets to show how much it would cost to visit each of these places. Include airfare and hotels. How much money would it cost to go on your Dream Vacation to all 5 locations? Which destination would be the most expensive?
- Be creative and come up with your own WOW Factor.

11. Group Project Assessment Rubric: Make a copy of the Group Project Self Assessment and save it to your Unit 5 STEM Project folder. Write an explanation for the number of points you deserve in each category to determine your grade on this Project.
12. Leadership Self-Assessment: Make a copy of the Leadership Self-Assessment for each person in your your group and save them to your Unit 7 PBL folder. Make sure you retitle each one to include the name the group member completing the self-assessment.
